Solid Cherry Bench

This one-of-a-kind cherry bench, is a masterful example of traditional joinery and minimalist design. Crafted entirely from a single, deep-toned slab of locally sourced cherry, its most remarkable feature was the complete absence of screws or metal fasteners.

The bench's construction was a testament to the skill of its maker. The two legs, thick and robust, were seamlessly integrated into the seat using a series of precisely cut mortise and tenon joints. The tenons were wedged on the underside, creating a strong, almost invisible lock that promised generations of stability.

The surface of the benches  smoothness, showcases the natural beauty of the cherry wood. Its rich, reddish-brown hue was highlighted by a simple oil finish, which brought out the subtle, swirling patterns of the grain and a lustrous sheen. Over time, this cherry would deepen in color, developing a beautiful, aged patina.
