Meet the maker

At Birkenheüer Design,I’m Declan, a woodworker from Brantford, Ontario, with a passion for crafting custom furniture and home goods. I trained at Sheridan College and continued my learning in industrial design, woodturning, and glassblowing. My designs are inspired by Scandinavian simplicity, Japanese marquetry, and modern creativity. I believe every piece of wood has potential—I use every scrap to create something new, so each item is truly one-of-a-kind. Whether you’re just starting out or you’ve loved woodwork for years, I hope my pieces bring a bit of beauty and meaning to your everyday life.
